New Year,New Me: The Blank Page.

Dear Christian Girl,

First of, Congratulations on making it another year!!!

As I sit down to write this post, I'm imagining a conversation with a dear friend - a Christian girl who's seeking encouragement, support, and a reminder of God's love. This is a letter to her, and to all the Christian girls out there who are on this journey of faith with me. It's a safe space for us to share, learn, and grow together.

Well,it's that time of the year where some of us (the rest of us have either given up,or never even bothered in the first place) sit down and reflect on the past year and proceed to pen down our now famous "new year resolutions" and "new year goals"

But be honest, (its just you and I), by the time we get to the end of June, how many of those goals have you achieved and how many resolutions did you stick by?

I for example, is a guilty party on this table. This wonderful blog was a long time coming but kept procastinating and giving excuses, but thank God for grace!!

You know, sometimes its not even about achieveing the goals, but we have set bulky and vague goals you dont know where to begin...

What do you mean you want to buy a benz by the end of the year when you havent even started paying for your own feeding yet?

Or you want to start a Forbes 500 buisness when you dont know the first thing about profit and losses?

Break those goals into smaller bits, and those bits to even smaller bits...take it day by day and be commited to trusting the process because only if you commit can anything really be done.

Some of us lack the commitment to keep going...We start something at the new year and is so excited for it, and the first quarter does not even pass us by before we begin to lose enthusiasm, just like my first run at this...

But grit keeps us pushing, when you have not more strength to push, and true success can only come when you have decided to push on,expeccially when you dont feel like it.

Another thing that holds us back is fear...fear of failing, fear of not meeting up,fear of what people will say,if they will laugh or take you seriously.

But we forget 2 Tim 1:7 (MSG) "God doesn't want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible."

We are God's own creation,we are beautiful, and smart and an asset to our generation so why hide it?

Nobody ever made it by playing safe, or being afraid to fail. Neither did anybody successful ever made it by caring about what anyone had to say abouy thier "wild dreams" and aspirations...

You are the main character of your own story and besides all they can do is talk, (do they want to beat you?)

Well this year we have another blank page, 365 unused opportunities to fuffill our dreams, but the big question is...are we going to take our chances?
Are we going to seize each day as they come and make the most of it?

Are we going to make sure thay this is the year that all our boxes are ticked?

As we stand at the threshold of this new year, remember that you have the power to create the life you desire. Don't let fear hold you back, and don't be afraid to take small steps towards your big dreams. You are capable, you are strong, and you are loved.

Sincerely yours,
DCG Team.

Love Is The Movement

We are in the season of love, of reds, whites, flowers, and teddy bears. From the first day of February, even the air smells like love. In our generation, the current society has helped us to define what love is, what it should “feel” like and the ABC of giving and receiving such love. We have based love on the butterflies in our tummy and the intense feeling of closeness, and want you feel when you are next to that special someone, the gifts given, the places, the cutesy things and inside jokes you share between each other, the midnight phone calls, the pet names and the love emojis, the “surprises” you get on special occasions like today, Valentines day, and those posts on social media that makes everyone green with envy and sigh “God when?” But if we are being honest like REALLY REALLY honest, what really is love? True Love? God’s Love? Love is large and incredibly patient; it cares for others more than it cares for itself. It is gentle and consistently kind to all. ...

Self-Love: The Hardest Type Of Love.

The second most important type of love after God’s Love is Self-Love, and it’s probably the hardest… It's funny how we can go to the ends of the earth and back for the people we love—our parents, partners, siblings, friends, you name it- but when it comes to us… Most of the time, we NEVER put ourselves first. Don’t be fooled; self-love is not pride, ego, or selfishness. Self-love is accepting who you are in Christ, your identity, and giving yourself the chance to grow, learn, experience life in pastel colors, and walk in God’s divine plan and purpose for your life. Self-love is knowing when to say no when you feel like you are being walked over. Self-Love is knowing when to walk away from a space where you are not being valued. Self-Love is understanding that you are YOU, unique and different, and nobody can do it like you. Self-love is that unique trait, the one-sided dimple or the vitiligo, the pearly white smile or curls, the brown eyes and freckled skin, the acceptance of God’...

UNNOTICED, NOT UNIMPORTANT: THE BLESSINGS WE FORGET

Dear Christian Girl, The other evening, during family prayers, my younger brother said something that struck a deep chord: he pointed out how we often “regularize our blessings.” In other words, we’ve grown so used to God’s daily goodness that we begin to treat the extraordinary as ordinary. We no longer see them as miracles we just call them "normal." But think about it how often do we pause to thank God for things like breathing without machines? For waking up in sound mind? For limbs that work, hearts that beat, and organs that function without any command from us? Somewhere along the way, we began treating the mercy of God as routine as though it’s our right. Psalm 103:2 reminds us clearly: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.” That “all” includes the silent ones too the doors that opened without noise, the sicknesses we never even knew were coming, the delays that were actually divine protection. It includes grace we didn’t pray for, and favour we...
